Raising kids, cattle, forages and grain for 4 generations in East-Central, SK.
Peter Kopelchuk started breeding registered Shorthorn cattle in 1927. Sadly the entire herd had to be euthanized when TB broke out across western Canada. He fought his way back from this devastation and started a Purebred Hereford herd. For the next 5 decades Peter along with his 3 sons Jim, Edward and Richard raised and sold breeding stock all over Saskatchewan. The bulls were sold at consignment sales in many town and cities including Yorkton, Regina, North Battleford, Wadena, Maple Creek and Mankota.
Jim's son Clint joined the boys in the 90's. Continuing to sell bulls at the 2 Top Hereford Bull Sales in Saskatchewan. The Maple Creek Beef Breeders Sale and Mankota Stockman's Bull Sale. He then joined up with other consigners and sold at the Range Ready Bull Sale in Swift Current. He then joined up with Yorkton and area Breeders and started the Range Ready Bull Sale hosting it at Heartland Livestock Yards in Yorkton.
The decision was made to move our bull sales to private treaty in 2020. The decision to change our sales to private treaty was influenced by our kids ever increasing busy schedule and desire spend more quality time with customers. Little did we know how much our busy schedule was going to change!
